Pasteur the Fraud

Louis Pasteur, so-called 'father' of the germ theory, kept the true records of his fraudulent experiments in laboratory notebooks, instructing his family they were not to be shown to anyone. In 1964 his grandson donated the notebooks to the French national library, which have since been dug up by the likes of Gerald L. Geison, whose biography - The Private Science of Louis Pasteur - is considered the staple work.
